STAND BESIDE JESUS On a bright Sunday morning in October I was asked to photograph the pastor for the church newsletter, posing him by a painting hung on a wall of alabaster. "Would you stand beside Jesus", I said, as I aimed my camera and took the shot, "That's a question we all need to hear" he said, as the image there I caught. The pastor's smile was full of hope and the faith that makes one strong; he always makes us feel really welcome and we'd raise our voices in song. It's a blessing that gives me the faith to carry on through a troubled time, as I heard the trials that He endured which were much more severe than mine. I leave the church, once more secure, knowing that I have been forgiven for unkind thoughts and careless deeds that were keeping me from Heaven. I will stand beside Jesus... just as the pastor did today, for He has lifted me up again and shown me light for the way. Countrymom 10/2/05
