Life as a River
a short poem with a moral "Life doesn't last forever"

Life is as a river,
with mysteries beyond every bend,
life is as a river,
we can never see the end,

we can try to look,
alas, to no avail,
what lies behind the next crook,
alas, we are doomed to fail,

life may seem long,
just as a river might too,
longer it may seem all along,
joyous are we two,

I warn you as a friend,
I know this to be true,
just as all rivers must have an end,
life does too.
