PARADOX
Tell me why Summer chills when there’s little or no hint of Winters’ tang then. How sad that cold intrudes in secret on sun warmed breeze. Leaves me shivering ‘til I can’t see for tears… chipping away my belief that July can heal the bitter, crushing ice which must descend when Winter claims its’ biting turn. Bringing with it the thought that Summer cannot return against this onslaught no matter how I plead. Cold as cruel as broken hearts will still engulf me long after snow is gone. I have small faith in Summer when its’ heat freezes my souls’ best intentions – when it represents promise I will lose, again. Is it loss of magic I’m mourning? Caught in Winters’ threat of return I fail Summers’ sweetness yet cannot find the reason as why Summer chills.
