AMERICAN SOLDIER Because he was born American He fights with the will to live. Love of Family and Country May cost all he has to give. But he’ll not give it easily, For he holds life too dear. Courage it takes to face the day ‘Cause many are faced in fear. He thanks God for each day And prays to see another, As he sees the weapons of war, Cut down one more brother. The enemy here is ready to die, Willing to pay such a price. They don’t know what freedom is, So life, will self-sacrifice. He is the American Soldier, And will forever stand, For the red, white and blue, The Flag of his homeland. Monty 4/20/04
