Unrequited
Rated: 13+ | Poetry | Romance/Love | #1018423
When unrequited love goes both ways, thanks to marriage.
Unrequited

Bride in white
Groom in black
Happy smiles
Tears and laughs

“I do,”
a kiss
It’s all legal now

Joyful forever
They stand together
The ties of marriage, bound

Yet she stands
Head in hands
At the back of the crowd

She said “No”
A few years ago
So, with regret, she frowns

Through tears and laughs
He met another
Who gave him happy smiles

And now,
In black he stands
Holding bride in white’s hands
Leaving the other’s love
Unrequited
