Hello! It's that time of that year again. I have been thinking about memories of Halloween from my life. I thought I would share some of them.
I remember that I went as a witch in grade school for 3 years. My first grade teacher asked me to help her make a brew in a cauldron. I was dressed as a witch all in black with a black hat and fake yarn blonde hair. All the children gathered pencils, paper clips, acorns, rubber bands, erasers, tack pins and all kind of items and stuck them in a big plastic cauldron. I had a big paddle and I kept stirring this stuff. We went to lunch and later recess. The teacher was stirring the brew, too. She asked me an hour before school was over, to take the lid off the cauldron. She said the brew was done. Imagine my surprise when I opened the lid and found the cauldron filled with candy! I believed that the items that we gathered and kept stirring, turned into candy. I realized that a few years later, that the teacher had switched the items with candy. It was a good prank. When I was trick-er-treating in third grade, my friends told me that a monster lived in a bottom apartment. They dared me to go over there and ask for candy. I knocked on the door and a man dressed like Frankenstein opened the door. I nervously said "Trick-er-Treat" and he gave me candy. The other kids decided to be brave and got their treats. The man was in the spirit of Halloween. I remember when kids trick-er-treated at 5:00PM and went until 10:00PM and after. That was before kidnappings and putting needles and razor blades in candy happened. I went as Bonnie Parker one year when I was thirteen and carried a toy gun. I got candy. I said: "Stick em up!" To bad I wasn't old enough to have Warren Beatty as my Clyde. I really enjoyed the Halloweens I had with my son. One year when he was four, I went as Gertie and I had my son dressed up as ET. I had a green dress that made me look look a young girl like Gertie with my hair in dog ears. We hugged and it looked like Gertie and ET hugging. My son dressed up like Eddy Munster 2 years ago and he looked just like him. I live in the country and I don't get many trick-er-treaters. My little cousin Emma who is five comes over and I give her candy and a Barbie Doll, Bratz Doll or Cinderella to go along with her candy. I have been doing this for 3 years. I have always loved dolls and she does, too. This is all I have to say. I thought that I would share this and wish everyone a Happy Halloween. ** #1016698 Not An Image ** ![]()
