Waiting For The Light
A poem about not waiting for love but going after it and finding it yourself.

I sit basking in the glow of your smile,
Knowing, waiting for my time to come,
The day when you’ll finally see the light,
But when will that day come?

Will I sit waiting too long,
Losing out on what I have to offer,
Waiting for one brief moment with you,
The time when I will get to see your love.

Or will it come too soon,
And I realize that it wasn’t worth the agony,
Not knowing what to do,
Seeing, believing that I was better off without you.

I can only take it one day at a time,
Not worrying about the next,
Or dwelling on the past,
But living my life for me.
