Awed by the grace of a single doe,
dancing, prancing, glancing as she goes. Whimsical ballerina of the wild, her demeanor is so gentle and mild. Amidst her haven in the trees she's nonchalantly feeding on some leaves. She is with babe, eating for two. Those camouflaged men, nothing they can do. She laughs in their faces as she skitters by, and proceeds to the brook, as her mouth is dry. Cool water rushes down her throat, and sprinkles her shiny, golden coat. Off in the distance, a clearing in sight, she weaves her way toward hypnotic light. There she sees him- her valiant buck. In harm's way, she warns him to duck. And so he dashes into the brush, and over the forest there comes a hush. The hunters are coming out of their stands. The doe rushes to the side of her man. They nuzzle noses and then stand apart. Tenderness is found in these deer hearts.
