STILLNESS
There is much joy in life that we often overlook, but it can be found in the stillness.

Be still. It's not always easy
In a world that's constantly moving.
Be still, and move with the world
As it turns on its axis.

Let the world move you.
Be still and become aware
Of the world around you.

Become aware of the things
We often overlook or take for granted.
The birds singing - the doves, the Great Kiskadee,
The grackles and the sparrows.

The trill of the cicadas.
Children at play in the park.
The cars passing on the road.
The sun-light. The shade of a tree.

A gentle breeze. The air you are breathing
Into your lungs. Life surrounds you.
Let it wrap you in the blanket
Of its energy and feel the joy of living.

Be still. Be at peace.
Let all the worries and cares of the day
Drift away like a mist in the breeze.

Just be still and know
That no matter what transpires in the day
The earth is still turning.
The sun is still shining.

The birds are still singing.
Life around you is moving.
Time still moves on with each grain of sand
That falls through the hourglass of our lives.

The gentle waves of the ocean roll.
And after every night comes a new dawn
And a new day to be still and experience life.

Be still and let the creative energies of life
Radiate in your heart. Reflect on its goodness.
Be still, and become aware of the life
That can only be perceived in the stillness.
