THE MUSIC
There is music in everything if you only listen for it.

Can you hear the music? Can you hear it?
It is in the wind as it whispers
Through the tops of the ash trees.

Can you hear the music in the rain
As it falls from the sky,
Bringing a refreshing newness to the land,
Giving life, bringing fresh coolness to the air
That has been burned and made stale
By the constant beating of the unforgivng heat?

Can you hear the music in the wind
As it moans around the eaves of the house?
Can you hear it in the buzzing bees
That rush about their daily work, pollinating
And helping life that things may grow and prosper?

Can you hear the music of the crickets
As you lay in your bed at night?
Can you hear it in the frogs
In the swamp behind your house?

Can you hear the symphony that is produced
By the frogs and crickets?
Can you hear it in the call
Of the mischievous crow,
Which to some may seem like noise?

Can you hear the music in the sorrowful
Solitary call of the lone wolf?
Can you hear the music in the coyotes,
Calling to each other with a solemn cry
That echoes in the night? Not everybody can.

Some call it music, but some call it noise.
Can you hear the symphony of the world
As it turns on its axis?
Not everybody can hear the music.

Not everybody listens.
Can you hear the music of life?
It gives joy to the soul and
Strength to the heart.

Can you hear the music? Can you hear it?
You can hear it if you slow down and listen.
You can hear it if you get away
From the city lights and take a walk,
Basking in the warmth of the sunshine.

You can hear the music in a friendly voice.
You can hear the music in a child's laughter.
Just slow down, stop, and listen
And you can hear the music we call life.
