The idea and basic concept of the Novel Workshop has evolved greatly over the years. It started out as a place to get our really long, long, loooooooong novels reviewed. It's now a full-fledged workshop where the writers inside are learning what it takes to be novelists and authors. It's much, much more than just grammar and story structure. There's industry news, market information, and so much more that needs to be learned before making it in the world of a published novelist. And joy of joys!! We have them. Over the past five years, several of our writers have graduated to the rank of published author.
*biiiiiig cheesy grin* The best phone I love are the ones at midnight where all you hear is screaming. Getting your first contract is a wild ride.
If you're a novelist or want to become a novelist, then this is the place for you. I don't allow people to join the group and then just hang out. If you're not actively working, you have six weeks and then you're out. You can take a vacation, but you have to be sure to let me know you're on vacation. I am flexible. However, ladies and gents, we have published authors, editors, agents and one or two publishers in these workshops. This is a serious workshop and requires serious dedication.
Anyone can come up with a great idea for a book. Only a true novelist has the courage, will, and temerity to turn it into a novel.
