Bethlehem

By the light of the star came we three
Expectant, awaiting royalty
To reveal, to honor, to proclaim.
How in this low town this House of Bread
Languishing unknowing, unhouseled
Each magi, all mankind, rough children.
Here was God's son born, the Bread of Life
Eternal, resplendant, Redeemer
Most mortal, yet holy and Divine.

Author's Note: Bethlehem may be translated as "house of bread".
