I Am

perhaps if I told the world

told anyone

all my secrets

my hopes

my ambitions

my fears

my joys

anything at all

that resembles who I am

who I truly am

then perhaps I will no longer have to hide

hide behind this mask of falsehoods

and finally be free from scorn

for I am passion

in its simpliest form

I am hate

in all its rage

I am torture

and feed from such

I am reverence

yet none will revere me

I am all that I hide from

all that I seek

I am everything that shouldn't be

and anyone can see how wrong I am

I am denial

and hate

I am the world

in one body

with one soul

but never will anyone see

for none shall look past my closed walls

for I dare not open them

and I will never tell

here I will stay

in my mask of fears

never speaking a word of what I truly am
