Words That Nearly Destroyed Me I walked into church and I took a seat I sang the hymns, listened to the prayer I lifted my eyes as the minister spoke Then I looked around and started to cry Get a grip on myself I silently prayed It doesn’t matter what an other says Oh but it does my inner mind cried Once again my eyes filled with tears I can't sit here and listen anymore I got up and started toward the door If you want forgiveness brethren Then you must be a forgiver Those word rang through my ear I heard the minister very clear I knew God was speaking to me My eyes opened and I could see That I had nearly spiritually died Because of what one had to say But I can't cast an accusing stone For I too stand guilty, she's not alone
