Greeting Death
She stands in the town of dead,
Drifting closer to the edge.
Her worst nightmares being fed.
Memories she can't forget,
Simply too much to regret.
Herself, an eternal threat.
Things that can never be unsaid.
All the blood that has been shed.
This lasting fear being fed.
She's quickly falling behind.
Her rage and anger, confined
The rising hate of mankind.
Her heart and soul, decaying
The bind of faith is swaying.
Now she feels she is paying.
A tear cascades down her cheek,
Knowing she was far too weak.
The truth was too hard to speak.
Her world breaks beneath her feet.
Her young life, hurt and deceit.
The dreams she had, incomplete.
Her torn heart ceasing to beat.
Eyes wide, admitting defeat.
Death comes and she goes to greet.
