MY DADDY’S DUNGAREES Oh! how I looked forward to the day My dad got a new pair of dungarees Cause Mom would fix his old ones up With tucks and hemming at the knees. ~ My brother never used to like them So he was always happy to agree That those he had were just fine So they’d be passed on down to me. ~ I’d follow Dad around all day While he did chores on the farm When he waved to someone passing I would also raise my arm. ~ Once he put a red handkerchief In the pocket of my pants So all could see I was a farmer too With just the slightest glance. ~ It’s really kind of funny What old memories will bring My Dad was a hard working Farmer Me; with pockets of a King. ©2/18/04 Monty
