Low gray and misty
Morning stirs slowly from her sleep
Tears shed for the one now gone
Paint a view of smudged distances
Blended soots of burned out dreams
A backdrop to the Dogwoods' tearful whites
Doomed to fade and pass
To where memories do not last.
