![]() The Word Made Flesh God's gift to Man at Christmastime came down; His only Son was to a Virgin born. A king, who wore no earthly, jewelled crown, His crib a lowly manger, all forlorn. The story was revealed to shepherds near, The skies were full of Angels' song and light. They knelt upon the ground in trembling fear, To hear the wondrous tidings of the night. They all were filled with reverence and awe At news that first to humble men was told; The Word Incarnate slept on bed of straw, With ox and ass to shield Him from the cold. He brought His love for all Mankind to Earth. So let us now proclaim the Saviour's birth.
