Connor’s view

He builds his landscape
from his palette,
burnt Siena, blue and red,
foundation for a country view
he sees without his glasses.

From on high the tower sways
to breeze, the sky a hazy white and grey,
while trees and fields hold to shades of green.
No eye’s delight today!

Upon the foundation
wrought from palette,
daubed with joy and sighs,
the acrylic strokes across the canvas,
reveal his inner eye.
