One Love Away

In the midst of a broken heart,
from the depths of madness.
On the verge of falling apart,
one love away from sadness.

You can't hide behind a veil
or look deeper inside to see.
I'm used to love's betrayal,
the lies you spun around me.

The passion has passed us by,
years of pretending are spent.
You were so tired and sighed,
then out the door you went.

We can't give back the time,
there are no second chances.
No emotional caution signs
and no more lover's dances.

Time could not heal the loss
as those wounds slowly bled.
All our bridges were crossed,
now all the rivers run red.

So I don't care what you say
or that our love finally died.
Sadness is just one love away
and truth can no longer hide.
