Hello Everyone! Welcome to our last Christmas Newsletter of 2005. How are you? Are you ready for Christmas? I have my tree up and my decorations out and I am done with Christmas shopping. Angel is busy with Christmas, too. We get to enjoy snow and the cold. We live 6 hours away from each other. We hope to see each other someday. Maybe this summer. We are excited about Christmas and it looks like we will have a white one. Angel and I love Christmas and hope that you do, too. It is such a treat to see the deer in the snow. I saw live reindeer at the Pine Tree Farm. Now, that's Christmas!

We are going to put a Christmas poem on here and a recipe and ways to simplify Christmas. We hope that you will enjoy this issue.

Santa's Prayer On Christmas Eve
By:
Warren D. Jennings

The sleigh was all packed, the reindeer were fed,
But Santa still knelt by his bed.
"Dear Father," He prayed. "Be with me tonight."
There is much work to do and my schedule is tight.
I must jump in my sleigh and streak through the sky.
Knowing full well that reindeer can't fly.
I will visit each household before the first light.
I will cover the world in one night.
With sleigh bells ringing, I'll land on each roof,
amid the soft clatter of each little hoof.
To get in the house is the difficult part,
So I will slide down the chimney of each child's heart.
My sack will hold toys to grant all their wishes.
The supply will be endless like the loafs of bread and the fishes.
I will fill all the stockings and not leave a track.
I will eat every cookie that is left for my snack.
I can do all these things, Lord, only through you, I just need your blessing then it's easy to do.
All this I do is to honor the birth of one,
That was sent to redeem us, Your most Holy Son.
So to all my friends, least your glory I rob,
Please Lord remind them who gave me this job."

This is so true. Thank God we have him and Jesus and Jesus is the reason for the season!

Ways To Simplify Christmas:
Remember the three P's for a Peaceful Holiday: Pray, Plan and Prepare.

Draw names for Christmas gift giving and keep a budget of what you will spend.

Make a list of colors, sizes and items requested from friends and family that you wish to buy for. Always take your list with you when you go shopping.

Keep gifts simple for babies and toddlers. They are too young to understand Christmas.

Keep all your gift receipts in a seperate box or envelope to make returns easier.

Have your friends help you with decorating for Christmas and help them in return.

Make gift tags from recycled Christmas cards.

Select a simple menu and use it more then once.

Take photos and videos of family and friends at Christmas parties. Be sure to write about these, too in a journal.

Host a potluck dinner and ask guests to bring desserts and side dishes.

Leave a notebook open on the kitchen table to record blessings and events. Ask friends and loved ones who come over to do the same.

Walk thriugh the neighborhod to look at Christmas decorations and sing Christmas Carols.

Roast marshmallows in the fireplace.

Take turns to open gifts so that others gifts can be appreciated.

Chocolate Spoons
Wrap chocolate spoons in cellophane and tie with a bow to accompany mugs or special coffee blends.

20-24 heavy plastic red, green, white or silver spoons
6 ounces of white chocolate
6 ounces dark chocolate
Red and green sugar; optional

Line two cookie sheets with waxed paper. Put the white and dark chocolate in seperate bowls. Melt each chocolate in the microwave.Select one minute on high and stir the chocolate throughly at fifteen second intervals until it is smooth. Dip the spoons in the chocolate and drizzle with the contrasting color.
You may also want to dip the spoons into red or green sugar. Arrange the spoons on cookie sheets with their handles propped on the side.
Refrigerate until the chocolate hardens. Wrap the spoons in cellophane and tie with a ribbon. A delightful Christmas Treat for all!
