CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

The twinkle of Christmas lights
always brighten up the season,
as the shoppers fill the stores
buying gifts that will be pleasin'

Trees adorn the roofs of cars
to fulfill a childhood dream
of Santa Claus and presents;
gifts wrapped in red and green.

Tangled lights are taken out of
last year's box of decoration,
again lighting up the tree with
"oohs" and "ahs" of adoration!

Nights are spent just watching
Christmas lights on the tree,
again in the early morning hours
they're turned on again to see.

But my very favorite time of all
is spent looking up at the sky,
seeing all the Christmas lights
that I don't have to buy -

The reason for the season
shines brightly up above
as God looks down to share
the wonder of His love.
