Why can't we put
War behind us Are we afraid "They" will find us? We're all different But still the same We're all human But who's to blame? Why can't we see Similarity? Instead we say He's not like me He's not my kin Way over there My skin's different And so's my hair We don't look far Enough inside To see the truth That we can't hide I'm just like you You're just like me We only want To be just free We don't believe In the same God But still you can Give him a nod When things are rough You don't give in You turn to that Which lies within We each believe In what we know Why can't we share And start to grow Why can't we love Ourselves down here While God above Is growing near? I hope someday That we can say We have regard No, it's not hard Just look inside It's not that far Acknowledge what's Inside your heart
