Everywhere in the world there are merchants, but not the same merchants. So here are the merchants near my home that I frequently visit...
Naturally, most of my spending money ends up in the hands of Walmart, but the Target store is a pleasant alternative with many of the same items in a smaller, more user-friendly environment. Target exterior... ![]() Michaels is loaded with every kind of arts and crafts materials you can think of: wood-carving, scrapbooking, beadwork, jewelry, painting, drawing, dried flowers, cake decorating, model-making... Michaels exterior... ![]() Michaels interior... ![]() Circuit City has TVs and DVDs, computers and software, camcorders and digicams, monitors, CDs, videogames... [NOTE added April 2009: Circuit City is dead now! Killed by the Great Recession! Bankrupt! Out of business!] Circuit City exterior... ![]() Circuit City interior... ![]() Need a videogame? GameStop! And movies, too, but not very many... Mostly games there... GameStop exterior... ![]() GameStop interior... ![]() The Dollar Tree sells everything for a dollar. No! Really! They do! Very clever, really, because who wouldn't buy something that was "only a dollar"? I try to stay out of there because I can spend a 20 dollar bill in the wink of an eye. DVDs for a dollar? Who can resist buying a dozen of them! Dollar Tree exterior... ![]() Dollar Tree interior... ![]() Well, those are some of my temples of materialistic consumerism. I don't worship there too often because I already have a house full of junk and I don't really need a lot more of it. But it sure is fun to look...
