Changing Seasons
Rated: E | Poetry | Nature | #1049287
Summer gives way to Autumn, presenting changes in life style.
Changing Seasons

Yesterday, sweltering heat pushed me inside
But, this morning, the cold breeze makes me shiver.
The dogs, under the red tipped hedge, would hide
up to now. Look! See how their bodies quiver.

The grass, out of control, always needed cutting
But now the time is come when its growth is stunted.
Hours are saved which would leave spirits strutting
Except the days are short and more time is hunted.

Longer nights give way to the warmth of home fires built.
Hot chocolate times with family all around
making memories. Then, tucked under Grandma's quilt,
nice and warm, secure dreams of happy times abound.

Now, Summer has gone and Autumn is here
Warm days of weather changes to warm times of cheer.
