Evening Calls
Short love poem.

The vibration of the phone in my pocket
sends shivers of anticipation through my body,
spawning giant waves of emotions
that crash down upon me, engulfing my mind.

Like a drowning man flailing for the surface,
my fingers wrestle in folds of cloth, until
I see that you are calling, and I breathe again,
sweet, fresh air filling my soul to bursting.

"Hello my love, how was your day?"
