Stranded
The dust from your departure has not yet settled from my mind I could not tell you how we got here Confusion wrenches out my figurative guts and maybe literal too - I'm afraid to look I am surrounded by things I cannot explain I'd give anything to see something familiar But I have nothing to risk anymore Not even a sense of direction You were my compass in this life I could not tell you how we fell apart or how pitiful I look, unable to go on My one true thing which caused the heavenly lights to smile down on our every move Still the skies observe my every anguish But no one navigates by stars anymore The cloud of dust has settled now Leaving me with scenery but no destination nor love nor goal nor sense of purpose Twenty roads to take and none appealing I could not tell you what it is I feel or even that I'll make it through They don't make a map for this I just ... I dunno
