My Non-Linear Valentine

Count-me-nots,
lost blessings--
brain a blush (red)
weighing half in pieces:
--an aorta
--left ventricle
--segment of brain.

Bleed, my Valentine,
bleed.

I have been dreaming
up love letters;
countless references
to Cupid--
how mouth curls;
a pulled bow
of surrendering

to arrows
striated and narrow
lips
no more.

Just slivers.

Tugging.

Face/heart.

Into smile.
