A touch of the past
For the Writer's Cramp 1/4/06

As the sun rose in the sky,
a lone sparrow flew by.
I sat and watched the mystery,
for only faint breeze was blowing by.

A old fashioned madam's hat cradled my lap,
a sleeping dog rests at my feet.
It was as if the lone sparrow
had bought me peace from the past.
