Measure of a Man’s Life

Don’t look at the end of my life
And mourn for me...
Look at the whole of my life
And celebrate with me...
For I lived my life to its' fullest.

If you look back and remember my life,
Know I left few earthly possessions...
This was not my way.

…But if the whole of a man’s life
were measured not by dollars and cents,
but by laughter and joy...
both given and received.

If the whole of a man’s life were measured
by the abundance of memories..
good times spent with family and friends...

If the whole of a man’s life were measured..
by his love of God, pride in country,
respect for life and nature...

If the whole of a man’s life were measured
by these...

Then I was rich! Yes Lord, I was rich in deed.
