LISTENING TO MUSIC I heard a garden fountain play and dreamed of sunny hours Mid fragrances and colors of many kinds of flowers. A hummer in the holly hocks, a bumble bee among the phlox. I heard the sounds of foreign ports and in a distant bay There rose the masts of many ships, the seagulls cried at play The creaking mast and curving sail, I heard them through a whistling gale. I heard the lofty heavens call and longed for windy skies! I heard the voice of freedom shout from blue eternities I spread my wings, to find somewhere the dark-blue zenith of the air.
