In Heaven there's a place
Where animals can go Who've left their earthly homes And miss their owners so It's manned by special staff Who had pets of their own Whom they loved very much But came here all alone They care for others' pets Until they meet again They treat the gentle creatures Like their own beloved friend Sometimes pets get lonely And miss their owner's touch Caretakers are the only Ones who love them just as much Sometimes it's people, not pets Whom the caretakers miss They have their own regrets For loved ones they long to kiss Then the animals serve A special purpose to those They help to calm their nerves As they are held so close So each one helps the other And no one feels alone They're a father and mother Until the owner comes "home" When on that special day They kiss each other's faces Each one is overjoyed And there are long embraces So when you miss your pets Don't think that they're alone Though every owner frets When their loved ones are gone They're helping someone else Who misses someone, too They're there to help each other So neither one is blue Even the homeless pets Will make a joyful sound They've found a place to rest A place called Heaven's pound
