Prophetic Words from Dying Lips
The prompt was grief, but I remembered a true story of overcoming and a renewal of love.

Finding light in the dark
A soft cry of joy from my mother

Through two deaths of loved ones
two lovers find each other

On a death bed one did speak,
"Take care of each other."

Prophetic words from dying lips
They rang out for both to hear

One suicide, one Cancer
Two lives gone
A husband and a wife live on

Crying together, healing
Flashbacks of my mother's horrid memories disappear
The thoughts of father's suicide fade

A burning flame for cleansing
Two throw memories within
To start love again, a healing rain

Late in life love grows warm
Together as husband and wife,
the mourners find joy once more

The prophetic words of a best friend
and wife live on as truth in these two lives
well beyond her grave

Two families now united
Celebrating new children born
Life and love are renewed again and again

Through this story I have found hope
Light pierces darkness.
