David Stephens, my friend
I guess this is the end Of life as you knew it I guess you outgrew it You left way too early And now I feel surly Man, I'm gonna miss you Our friendship wasn't through You were one of the good ones I thought of you more than once Lately, and I meant to call When I heard about your fall But now it's simply too late That'll teach me to hesitate Now I can't even say goodbye David, why did you have to die You were so easy to talk to I knew you felt like I did, too You were always so soft-spoken For now, my spirit is broken You were so talented With things that you planted May you bloom bright in Heaven For all the love that you've given Maybe God will put you In charge of His garden While you were here on earth You had just gotten started So I'll say goodbye for now I don't know when, or even how I hope to see you again I'm glad you were my friend
