Nila, A Celtic Woman

I am writing this as the character Nila. This is a Celtic woman story. She is the youngest daughter of a farmer who marries a dog to save her father's land. He turns into a handsome human man. Let's start the story.


Hello. I am Nila, the youngest of three daughters. My father is a farmer. He lost all his cattle and a talking dog promised him a lot of money and some cattle if he could marry one of his daughters. My two sisters laughed at the dog. I agreed to marry him. I love animals and the dog was smart so I decided to marry him. Dad was poor and I wanted to help. I married the dog and left with him. Dad got his money and had riches. The dog turned into a handsome man and we lived in a nice, fancy house in the woods. We fell in love and I became pregnant. I missed my father and sisters and I wanted to go visit them. Seth{my husband} presented me with a silver mare to ride back to my family. I had to be home before my baby was born. My family was shocked and glad to see me. They asked about my marriage. I told them my husband turned into a man. I don't think they believed me. Well, I lost track of time and my pretty baby daughter was born at the house where I grew up. {The house had been built on to and was now fancy}. That night while we slept, my baby was kidnapped! I rode back home on the silver mare and Seth had our daughter. He told me that I was supposed to be home before the baby was born.

I became pregnant again and I wanted to visit my family again. Seth told me to be home before the baby was born. Again, I had my baby at home. A beautiful little boy. While we slept, the baby was taken away. Father was outraged. Seth had taken him home. I explained that to father and I went back home to Seth on the silver mare and he was there with our babies. The next time that I became pregnant, I didn't tell Seth. I went home to my family on the silver mare and my third baby, a beautiful son was born. Again, my baby was gone when we woke up. Seth had found out! I went out to ride back on the silver mare but the mare was gone. I decided to walk back to mine and Seth's house. It got dark and I found a cottage in the woods. A strange, attractive woman said I could spend the night at her house. She gave me magic scissors and thread. She also gave me a magic potion. She is a witch! She also told me that Seth left me for a beautiful Princess in the Sky. The sky? Seth left me for a beautiful Princess? He wouldn't! I didn't believe it. The witch showed me her crystal ball and I saw Seth with the Princess in her castle in the sky. I cried. Seth no longer loved me. The witch told me she would take me to the castle but I needed the scissors, thread and potion to get Seth back. The witch, Hazel took me to the castle. The castle wasn't exactly in the sky but it sat so high up that it looked like it was in the sky. A maid let me in. I met the Princess and I begged her to let me have my husband back. I offered her the magic scissors and she told me that I could sleep with my husband that night. I gave Seth the potion but he didn't see me. I hid in the closet. I put it in his nightly tea. He slept all night and I couldn't wake him with my kisses. I was out of his bed before he knew that I was there. The Princess hid me all day in the tower. That night, I wanted to sleep with him again so I gave the Princess the magic thread. I put less of the potion in Seth's drink and this time that we slept together, I woke him and we made love. I told him that I am his wife and I love him and want him back. Seth was so happy that he left the Princess and told her that he loved me and wanted me. He didn't love her. The Princess forgave us and we left to go back to our house with our three children. Seth and the children go with me to visit my family after the winter. We stay a few months. I wish mother was still alive but I am sure that she is looking down on us smiling. I never leave Seth and the children alone. We have two more male children and they were born at mine and Seth's house and my father lives with us. My sisters have married and father is old. I hope that he will be around a long time. His grandchildren love him. We are a happy family.
