A Song in the Dark
for Karen
Does the darkness not know?
Has he forgotten the morning star?
Can he not hear the song of life,
As day and night, it pierces his darkness?
There is a song in the dark, my Beloved.
He is my song in the dark, my Beloved Lord.
Is the darkness surprised by the sunrise, day after day?
Does he not know the night is done?
Christ is come, the darkness is passing!
There is a song in the dark, my Beloved.
He is my song in the dark, my Beloved Lord.
And when He sings the darkness trembles.
His song shakes the earth with thunder
And turns the darkness into light.
His love will quench every tear spilled under the sun.
Watch for the dawn, and look up.
The night’s far spent, He’s already singing.
He is my song in the dark, my Beloved.
He is my song in the dark, my Beloved Lord.
And He will turn the darkness into everlasting light.
