Rochester
Response to the Earl of Rochester

Pity for the Earl of Rochester dissipates,
Seeing he only thought about his own state,
Althought fashionable, stds lamentable,
Mercury somewhat able.

License to flout morality,
Leaves me disgusted in its entirity,
Orphaned by his own promiscious hand,
How dare history call this pimp a man?

Restoration is damnation and conflaguration,
Given the priviliged "occupation."
Perhaps Rochester is only an imposter,
Although he lost her.

Integrity by no means,
Contrived with bullying schemes,
Poor Dryden left to rot,
Thanks to this pimp's plot.

For shame when in vain,
Only material gain,
Weightless to his specific pain,
With time, lame.
