Boys Will Be...? Tim took a match from the box and lit the lantern. "You say this is where you saw it?" Bob asked as he checked his camera. Tim's teeth seemed to glow in the lantern light when he grinned at him. "Yes, right here, on this spot." "This is silly," said Jake. "It was probably just a big dog." Tim still smiling shook his head. "No, it was no dog. It stood up on its hind legs, like a man." Bob pointed an accusing finger at Tim. "Now I'm sure you're making it up. You're describing a werewolf and everybody knows there's no such thing." Tim held his watch into the light from the lantern. "The full moon will rise in a few minutes. Do you have your camera ready, Bob." Bob nodded. Jake pulled his purple scarf tighter. "It's getting cold," he complained. The moon started to peek through the tree leaves. Jake and Bob looked at Tim. He was leaning against a tree and looked like he was in pain. He turned to face the boys. His blue eyes had turned to glowing red and his smile revealed long sharp teeth. He sprang at his friends. Bob tried to back away and tripped on a rock. His camera flashed as he fell. Jake started to run but his scarf tangled on a bush. The next evening when the search party got to the small clearing in Meyer's Woods they found a lantern, some matches, a purple scarf and a camera. The photo taken looked like a blurry picture of a large dog. The moon was just coming up. Sheriff Tucker said, "We'll meet here early tomorrow morning to continue searching. Better bring guns too; it sounds like there are wolves in these woods. 293 words Won 2/3/06
