Superiority Complex
Observations at a fast food restaurant.

"I don't want those fries. They've been sitting under that heat lamp all day. I want THOSE fries over there." She gestured towards the batch in the deep fryer. Her sharp tone of voice had shook me from my reverie.

She didn't seem to notice the lunchtime crowd around her. Or how obviously stressed-out the employees were from rushing about to fill orders.

Apparently, none of that existed in her world.

The imperial expression on her face made me think of the Queen of Hearts from "Alice in Wonderland". It was HER way. Always HER way.

She got her french fries soon enough from the harried young woman behind the counter. Looking down her nose at the frazzled employee, she snatched the tray with the arrogance of a true snob.

It was all I could do to keep from tripping her as she stalked past me.
