Letting Go
I am using my imagination to feel death and after life.

The heat touches my skin
I breathe deeply
The sensation is excruciating
I close my eyes

My mind races frantically
My lungs suffocate
I begin my decent
Fear succombs me

My limbs tingle
Before the numbness sets in
I let go of all strength
And I give in

I am startled awake
When I am lifted
Pain has disappeared
I am embraced with love
For I have been reborn
