Just as her heart had predicted

tensing every muscle in her body
she continued to walk through the forest
she was afraid,
afraid of the dark,
fearful of the whispers
frightened by the sounds
horrified by the breath
the breath of those that followed her
the dark had brought out everything
everything terrifying
She knew that what was following her now was not from the forest though
what was following her was human
she took more steps
after she realized that thought
she began to walk faster
she heard much more noise in the persons movement
she saw a shadow
many shadows now
passing in front of her
now one dark object was blocking her path
she tried to get away
but it grabbed her
she struggled
and then it ended
he had let go
she lay
pain in her
coarsing through her
she prayed
then she was gone forever
just as her heart had predicted
