A muse about a dream and change and God

A Dream

I awoke from a dream today
with a whole new set of rules.
What I found to my dismay
wasn't on the evening news.

I saw the world in shades of grey,
someone's changing all the views.
They did it all without my say
I was lost amidst their ruse.

I went to church and knelt to pray
to shed those darker hues.
I begged and pleaded all the day
in those lonely oaken pews.

We all had gone a separate way
on our lengthy Godless cruise.
All of man was lost in the fray
but God will collect his dues.
