Princess Tabitha and Countess Maggie were half sisters. Maggie was the daughter of Countess Naomi and the step daughter of Count Morgan Demont. Tabitha's father King Lectivas had an affair with Countess Naomi before he met and marry Tabitha's mother Queen Lynette. The young women had been bought up together. Maggie lived at the castle with her mother until her mother met the Count and married him. Maggie was three years old when her mother married. The King loved Maggie and Naomi but she had been a lady-in-waiting and it wasn't fitting for the King to marry her. King Lectivas married Lynette, a respectable daughter of a Baronet. It was a marriage of convience but everyone involved seemed happy. Naomi came to the castle when ever she wanted. Maggie lived with the King and Queen when she turned eight. Tabitha was three years younger then Maggie and the sisters were devoted to each other. Tabitha was a red hair and Maggie was blonde like her mother. It was hard to tell which sister was the most beautiful but the young women didn't worry about that. The snow was on the ground and the red and pink roses were sticking out of the snow and lived through all seasons. The sisters were holding hands and had their cloaks on and didn't care that it was cold outside. Tabitha looked at the roses with a concerned look on her face. "What is wrong?" Maggie inquired in her sweet voice. Tabitha sighed. "You know the story of the roses outside Snow Rose Castle. The roses dance happily in the summer and when there is trouble, the roses shiver and look so sad." Maggie laughed. "That is just a myth. The roses are shivering because they are cold. In the summer, the wind is blowing and it makes them look like that they are dancing." Maggie always smiled. Nothing broke her spirits. She had just become engaged to Admiral Lawrence DeBoard of the King's Navy. Her father approved of the arrangement and Maggie was very much in love with her young man. Tabitha hoped that she would soon found a love of her own. Being in love had to be the best feeling in the world. "What is like to be in love?" asked Tabitha. "Maggie giggled. "Don't you ever get tired of asking that question? Love is the most powerful emotion ever. It gives you comfort, warmth and no one can take it away from you. It fills your soul with passion and kisses from someone you love puts you under a beautiful spell and puts passion and sparks in your soul. I love Sir Admiral Lawrence DeBoard. He is a Prince." Tabitha loved Maggie and she loved her descriptions about love even though others might think that she was silly. Tabitha was so glad that Maggie was her sister. It would have been a lonely life without her. Just then a cold wind blew over the sisters and the roses lost some petals. Tabitha was scared and so was Maggie. Maggie didn't get scared of anything. Just then a messenger showed up on a big brown horse and blew his trumpet and headed towards towards the castle. He had a message for the King. Tabitha and Maggie decided to go into the castle. They went into the library and waited for their father to send for them. What did the messenger need to tell the King? The sisters were quiet and waited what seemed like an eternity for the maid Lucille to come and get them. They followed Lucille to the Kings chambers and the women sat in their designated chairs. King Lectivas cleared his throat. "I have some disturbing news. Several pirates over powered the Navy ships and a lot of the men are dead. Sir Lawrence is one of them among the dead." Maggie screamed and fell to her knees as Tabitha tried to comfort her. The King went to his daughter Maggie and kissed her cheek and made his exit. Lynette sent for some tea and she hugged Maggie. She had always loved Maggie like a daughter. Maggie's mother had been sent for. This was a sad day for Maggie. Life would never be the same for her. ** #1071735 Not An Image ** ** #1065353 Not An Image ** ** #1064977 Not An Image **
