Working through some issues.
Sometimes my mind wanders to where my fears reside. I comfort myself by writing.

My thoughts hold no promise
Of a better day
I look at your life
And I hear you say

Come on, come on
It's better this way
Hold on, hold on
Now, don't be dismayed

But I'm sinking fast
The water is rising
Not sure I'll last
And it's not surprising

I saw it coming
From far away
I heard it whisper
As if to say

"This is the end
Don't be afraid
I'll be your friend
I'm here to aid

You've paid your dues
There's no more pain
You've had the blues
Now, no more rain

Just come with me
And take my hand
And then you'll see
You'll understand

It's part of life
This death you fear
You know that I've
Always been near

It's just that you
Chose not to look
I'm nothing new
You just mistook

Me for something more
I'm your final relief
And I'm at you door
So have no grief

Just be at peace
With me once more
Just be at ease
Like once before

All things return
From whence they came
When will we learn
Each other's name

The name is love
And it knows all
From a morning dove
To a midnight call

It's in control
More than we know
It's got our soul
Wherever we go

Right here and now
Or in the next realm
It guides somehow
It's at the helm

It never dies
It never will
The sun will rise
And I'll be still
