Dainty, tiny silken-pawed kitten,
One look at you and my heart was smitten; Your baby blue eyes spoke of heaven, Noelani, the name was chosen. Mist of heaven, you’re like no other, ‘Call her BabyCat,’ said Grandmother; So my BabyCat you became, Love of my life you still remain. My heart was broken when you died, Now I immortalize your life Through song and poem and story fair, You are my muse beyond compare. Note: Noelani means “mist of heaven” in Hawaiian Written for the “Who is your Muse Poetry Contest” February 17th, 2006
