Deceptive Silence
Silence can be deceptive, making everything seem empty...but is it?

Deceptive Silence

The land so old,
The hills so vast,
The moon casts shadows,
Hence shadows dance.

The silence so full,
The mist so thick,
The trees stand still,
For no breeze exists.

No people wander,
In this silent realm,
Their heartbeats slowed,
Their voices quelled.

The flowers too dark,
Their radiance dulled,
The bittersweet roses,
So black in the night.

But as Sun approaches,
The roses change hue,
Their colors brightening,
The petals drip dew.

As the sun rises,
The world is revealed,
Its people awaken,
To tend to their deals.

The land is not empty,
As at first sight,
The land was so silent,
Because its people slept tight.
