Manifesto of Common Sense for the Future

0. General
This manifest is designed to lay out my feelings, hopes, and expectations for the future. There are five basic points I will make in this Manifesto.

1. Social Issues
Some of the greatest challenges the world faces are social indifference, intolerance, and ignorance.

The world is now a much smaller place, and as such, we all need to make room for the new kids on the block, but not so much as to push ourselves off the bench.

We need balanced social equality, not just elevating one or several cultures for their greatness, because every civilization great or small, has its faults and its achievements. In other words we need to respect our neighbor, and our neighbor needs to respect us.

The world needs to learn that every culture is different, has its quirks and its downfalls, its achievements and its failures, we need to respect everyone.

Respect is a two way street as many people seem to forget. We can respect our neighbors all we want, we can give them things so they like us, we can say nice things about them, we can bend over backwards to make them happy, but if they do not respect us, then you are really getting no where.

2. Economic Issues
The world is a rich place, rich in life, rich in freedom, and rich in beauty. But this wealth has not always been shared, it has been hoarded, and stolen, and stolen back, thus is the way of the world.

A simple law of the world is, supply and demand, if a product is wanted, and it is feasible to produce it, that product will go out to the world, as long as there is a call for it, it will be supplied for a price. If people don’t want it, then it won’t be for sale.

This means, if you want to be successful, you have to have a product to sell, whether services or Commodity, if you do not have something to sell, then you will not be successful. And in the Global economy that we now live in, you need to be successful to survive.

A trade between to entities must have something in it, tangible or not, for each of them to do it, if one gives the other something then it will be paid back some how latter on. If you do not have something to trade, no money to give, no services to bargain for, then people will simply not trade with you. And the modern age of guilt we now live in, we feel that it is our personal responsibility as Global Citizens to help every Tom, Dick and Harry that calls our name. But this does not work with Economics, because economics are fickle, there is a way to do them, and a way not to do them. Giving does not help you, nor does it help them, it creates a dependency, which means that they will ask for help again, then again, until you are in a never ending circle of helping and receiving nothing, until you reach the point of no Return you can no-longer help them, because you yourself are in shambles.

You have to trade, not give, they need food, you exchange money of for food, if they have no money for food, trade them something else for food. This works so that they are getting what they need and you are getting what you need, this creates a sort of Economic Partnership, you give one thing, they give another.

This is a lesson the world needs to learn desperately.

3. Peace and Co-operation
If the human race is to survive the 21st century, and after that, Peace and Co-operation must be at the top of our lists, the world has seen an increase in this, which is a milestone in itself. But we still hold old grudges and old rivalries.

Peace and Co-operation incorporates Racial, Religious and Ideological tolerance, this includes:

-Respecting peoples Racial, or other differences, and not making fun of them
-Getting people to respect your differences
- Countries should respect economic, social, and ideological differences, BUT NOT to the point of ignoring human rights abusers.

4. Education
The world needs to acknowledge the fact that we cannot advance as a society unless society is properly educated, this means:
-Education which takes a neutral stance in disputes
-Gives credit where credit is due
-Does not elevate any social, religious, gender, weight group, ethnic group, above any others, majority or minority
-Teachers that have no personal biases against, people or groups
-Teachers that are interested in what they are doing
-Enough teachers to go around
-Making school interesting and available to everyone
-And NO commercial presence in schools
These are points that I cannot stress as more important to a person’s development in high school, or in grade school, or even Post-secondary education.

5. Environment
People need to acknowledge that the world is changing, at a rapid pace. The environment is becoming more and more violent, examples like Hurricane Katrina, the extreme warm spells that Canada is having, and the strange weather patterns all over the world.

But the world needs to adopt the practices of recycling, reusing and returning. And we need to do that, with these basic principals in mind,
-The world does not have unlimited resources we need to be careful and economical with the ones we do have.
-The world is not invincible and will not take everything we can dish out onto it.

We need to preserve our cradle, so we can look back on our youth with pride and dignity.

6. The Future
Nobody knows for sure what the future will hold, we just have to go with our best foot forward, our ideals concrete, and an open mind.
In my opinion that is the best recipe for success that a person can make.
