SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE

Separation of Church and State
Thus has been our fate.
It's good to avoid religious wars
but bad that we have closed some doors
Bad that we have erected a wall
to occasion our poor childrens fall:

Life without God, a huge block of the day
No free conversation to even say
His Name or mention His truth.

But is He not the source of life?
Did He not teach us to keep from strife?
His words true health to the weary sick soul?
In this life's sorrow
the power to console?

And does He not give a young life true aim?
To establish Christ's Kingdom and hallow His Name?

So why then do we treat Him with shame?
And ban Him from the premises
On false premises?

Let all have their say
and truth will win the day!
Open the doors!
That free thinkers
may have free access to all wisdom!

But if not-
Should it really surprise us
that we yield a generation that truly defies us?
So disjointed and disturbed and perverted and crude
and miserable and dark and crazy and rude?

The psychiatrists and lawyers will continue to chart profits
as long as our youth are barred from the prophets!

The church seems impotent to stem the tide
of the evil that starts from the evil inside
The homes too troubled to help out the cause
We're losing the battle against society's flaws!

Let victory begin with a kernel of truth:
LET THE VOICE OF OUR GOD BE HEARD BY OUR YOUTH!!

We have seen the walls...
That they are high and thick
And thick are our heads in keeping them
high and thick
Jericho in red brick
No wonder we're sick!

Let the trumpet sound
and the voices be raised
CRY OUT!! That the walls come tumbling down.

If the God of Israel be dishonored so-
can we really expect His help 'gainst the foe?
His protection at home and our warriors to bless
If we are ashamed His Name to confess?

You can't have it both ways:
OWN HIM OR DIE!!
He gives health to our bones
and all needs supply.

May God give us grace
to do what is right
and NE'ER LET HIS NAME
BE FAR FROM OUR SIGHT!!
