Fear of Failure
Reflection upon a defining moment of memory

Under the yellow glow
of the sticky summer streetlight
the frenzy of insects
gathered for warmth
as she walked beneath
in lithe, disjointed rhythm.
A breath taking dance
in slow, sauntering
black-clad motion
as God's whisper
tickled gentle brown threads
upon her cheek.

Her dance interrupted
as she noticed my gaze
and sheepishly offered
"Hello." as she walked away.
