PAIN

PAIN

All of the words he had spoken,
Had made no difference to her.
What they had been to each other,
In her mind they no longer were.

Ten years ago she betrayed him
But he can’t forget what they had
And time has dragged so slowly by,
As his heart grows ever more sad.

He dreams that the pain will leave him,
From his mind, the past, go away
But knows it will never happen,
The future looks only more gray.

He thinks and sees all too clearly,
His thoughts giving ever more pain.
Even in sleep he remembers
And all of his dreams are in vain.
